  • What is the difference between JEDI and WBC?

    JEDI is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and the host of the Women’s Business Center at JEDI. The Women's Business Center was established in 2014, JEDI was originally established in 1997 and is proud to offer economic programs and services to individuals and businesses in Northern California.

  • Do you only serve women?

    We provide services to everyone. WBC at JEDI doesn't discriminate based on gender, religious affiliation, race, or sexual orientation.

  • Why small business?

    Small businesses are the foundation of a healthy economy. Small business owners create jobs and infuse the local community with products and services that are unique to their location. Small business keeps money close to home and fosters vitality by providing meaningful opportunities.

  • Can you help me even though I live out-of-state?

    You are welcome to take any of our webinars. Our no-cost consulting services are on a case-by-case basis.

  • How can I get grants for my woman-owned business?

    Most grants are designed for businesses that are already in operation. Depending on your industry and where you’re located, there may be grants available to your startup business. We encourage you to meet with our advisors to explore funding options for your business.

  • How much do services cost?

    Service costs are based on your ability to pay. Most of our services are low and no cost thanks to government and grant funding.

  • Should I start a business?

    Take our FREE three-part online self-study course. Available at https://www.wbcjedi.org/store our online learning center 24/7. This course can help you determine whether or not you should start a business.

  • Do you have grants for small business or startups?

    The Women’s Business Center at JEDI does not offer grants, but our advisors can assist you in researching available grants and preparing your application materials.

  • Do you lend money?

  • I need a better accounting system, can you help me?Item

    As your small business grows, having access to a financial accounting system is key. Our Quickbooks specialist can help you get started and answer your small business accounting questions.

  • Can the WBC at JEDI help me with debt?

    Yes, we have a credit building workshop, and the trainer is available for one-on-one counseling with clients. Learn more by contacting us at info@e-jedi.org.

  • Do you have anyone that can build a website for me?

    The WBC at JEDI offers training and consulting so that you can learn how to build a website for your business. We are not able to build websites for our clients. We can also refer you to a for-hire website developer.

  • How important is it to do a business plan?

    It is critical to think through your business thoroughly, and research pertinent information about the marketplace you will be entering BEFORE you invest much of your time, energy, and money to begin forming the new business. We offer access to consultants who can help guide you through the market research process as well as creating a business plan when you are ready.
